Responding to COVID-19

At AmerisourceBergen and through our family of companies, we ensure that crucial medications efficiently, reliably and securely reach their destinations every day. We recognize that our work is essential in advancing the treatment and prevention of COVID-19 and are dedicated to supporting our associates, customers, partners and patients at this critical time for healthcare.

Safety of our associates

The health, safety and well-being of our associates is a top priority during this global pandemic. We're supporting our front-line associates during COVID-19 with:

  • Enhanced cleaning protocol including EPA-approved disinfectants and additional support from third-party cleaners
  • Implemented "Wally" the UV disinfection robot in our distribution centers to ensure maximum cleanliness and associate safety
  • Back-up dependent care program
  • Enhanced paid time off policy for associates needing to self-quarantine or care for family members

Business continuity

Our customers rely on us in order to treat and care for their patients which means it is paramount that we ensure any disruptions to our operations do not impact our ability to deliver on our customers’ needs.

Product availability & market disruption

“It is better for patients and for the security of the supply chain to maintain inventory at the distributor level, rather than concentrate too many resources at any one site of care. This helps ensure the pharmaceutical supply chain's flexibility and responsiveness.”

Heather Zenk, SVP, Strategic Global Sourcing

Responding to a global pandemic, including planning for the distribution of treatment and prevention therapies for COVID-19, takes a coordinated effort. We continue to strengthen our public-private partnerships to support the pharmaceutical supply chain in addressing the COVID crisis.
